Perfect Platters

A new trend in the Cape winelands is to offer platters with the winetasting. My favourite thing to do is to order a platter for lunch, and ask to have my winetasting with it. Imagine enjoying a platter of local meat, cheese and chutneys with homebaked bread, while looking out over the vineyards and tasting 4-6 wines during the course of the lunch! At around ZAR 90-120 for two people, these platters are great value. The winetasting is often charged at about ZAR 25-30 per person, but the great thing is that if you buy any wine to take home the charge is waived. Talk about having your lunch and keeping the wine!
