South African Snapshots: no 4

I am definitely a bubbly girl! It’s like tasting the stars, as Dom Perignon said. South Africa makes excellent bubbly that is on par with many of the French champagnes. The Methode Cap Classic (MCC), where the tiny bubbles are created in the bottle during the fermentation process, is the same method as is used to make champagne. But unlike the Frenchies, South Africa makes decadent bubbles priced in a way that lets you enjoy them at any occasion (or even without any reason at all, which is my favourite!).

My insider tip: the dry and structured Clos Andre from High Constantia. Apart from being absolutely delicious, it comes in a beautiful and individually numbered bottle.
