South African Snapshots: no 12

Arguably the most beautiful hiking destination in the world! Like the tail of a giant dragon, this mountain range cuts through South Africa from north to south. The most dramatic part forms the border to the mountain kingdom Lesotho, where the peaks are up to 3,500 meters. Its iZulu name, uKhahlamba, means “barrier of spear” and it is not hard to envisage these spears of invisible enemies while standing at the bottom of the valley.
