South African Snapshots: no 19

Weaver birds.
I love watching the southern masked weavers busy at work. First, he (yup, it’s the boys that have to do the hard work – just the way it should be!) picks off all the leaves from the branch he has chosen (supposedly so that treesnakes can be easily spotted once they have eggs and chicks) then he carefully starts crafting a perfect little nest. And it has got to be perfect. When he is done, his wife will inspect the nest and if she is not happy she will tear it down and he has to start all over again.
