Running while on the road

In-between my jobs as a travel producer, writer, guide and travel blogger (and my frequent personal trips), I am training for the 2Oceans Ultra Marathon. It’s in March 2016, which means that I now have around 5 months to get ready (and I need to run at least one “normal” marathon in this time)…

While it’s often said that running is of the easiest sports to do “all you need is a pair of shoes”, it is not always easy to find the time, energy and possibility to run while you are on the road. But yesterday, as we arrived to Coffee Bay on the beautiful Wild Coast I had all of the above. Although it had been a while, and this first run after a break is usually quite hard, it was an absolutely stunning one!

Tomorrow, I’ll hike the same hills with the group I am guiding. Then I plan to do some intervals on the beach.

Soft grass, rolling hills (although steep to get up onto) and nothing but the Indian Ocean as far as the eye can see!
