When the desert flowers

Not so long ago, I guided a group of Swedish nature lovers on a trip to explore the spring flowers of the South African desert. Despite the fact that we are experiencing the worst drought in 35 years, which means that many flowers lie dormant in seed waiting for better condition, we were treated to an amazing display. Generally, there will be more different colour but it seems that the orange flowers are the most resilient.

These pictures are from Goegap Nature Reserve and Namaqua National Park.
