I am super excited to announce the launch of my travel business Slow Travel Africa! This is a dream come true for me: to create slow journeys that let travellers connect with people and nature in a meaningful way. The aim of Slow Travel Africa is to make your trip the memory of a lifetime by going beyond the typical tourist attractions and exploring deeper and further. Meet people to understand their culture and history, taste the food and explore nature in an immersive yet non-invasive way. Your holiday will also leave a positive impact on the people and places that you visit through our focus on responsible tourism and giving back. You can read more on the brand new website!
Just a few days after launching Slow Travel Africa, I took to the roads with a group of hikers from Sweden (a collaboration with hiking organiser Vandra Mera). We explored the streets of Soweto, hiked some of the highest peaks of the mighty Drakensberg, went into the wilderness of Hluhluwe, dived head first into the hustle and bustle of inner-city Durban, and hiked along the beautiful Wild Coast. It was the real South Africa, and a perfect combination of meeting people and getting deep into South Africa’s wild and beautiful nature. What a privilege it is to be able to call days like this work!
