This blog is about my journey through life. It is about exploring near and far; experiencing the moment and embracing life.
My Slow Journey started out as a personal blog for friends and family when I moved to the other side of the world. But slowly my following grew, and I realised that my journey may be of interest to more people than just those close to me. That’s when I decided to make my personal blog My Slow Journey, with a little less private content and lots more about the journeys I go on. These journeys are geographical, as I travel a lot both for work and holiday. They are also physical, as I try to be a fit and healthy person. And sometimes they are spiritual as I try to be mindful and love myself, people around me and the Earth.
I live in South Africa, one of the most beautiful, weird and wonderful places on earth, and many of my journeys are local. But I am from Sweden, my friends are scattered across the globe, and my husband and I love to travel, so I also go on longer journeys.
I live and breathe my passion for slow (see What is Slow?), both in my professional and private life. As a consultant for Sustainable Development in tourism, I help tourism businesses do good things, and I also apply the spirit of slow in my own life journeys.
My Slow Journey was recently awarded Silver in the 2015 African Responsible Tourism Awards (Best Blog category), and has worked on campaigns such as #MeetSouthAfrica by South African Tourism. I am also a regular contributor on The Good Holiday, Portfolio Collection, Moja Heritage Collection and StellenBlog.
So let’s go! Join me on my slow journey!
